Ray Weter, a Republican, represents Christian and Taney Counties (District 142) in the Missouri House of
Representatives. Elected to the house in 2004, Ray is a retired Cardiovascular Perfusionist.
Born and raised on
a farm outside Sparta, Missouri, Representative Weter graduated from Sparta High School in 1963. After attending Southwest
Missouri State University, he completed his education in Kansas City. After a number of years in Respiratory Therapy, Ray
furthered his education in the field of Clinical Cardiovascular Perfusion. He became director of the perfusion team in two
of the state's foremost open heart surgery programs. In addition to his clinical duties, Ray was responsible for managing
staffs of professionals, scheduling, evaluation and budgeting. He developed valuable skills at resolving issues between strong
minded professionals in order to come to a consensus and move ahead.
Representative Weter resides in the Ozark
area with his wife of thirty years, Sheri. She is an anesthetist with White River Anesthesia Associates, proving anesthesia
services at Skaggs Hospital in Branson.
Ray and Sheri are the proud parents of Andy, Erin, and Nathan. Andy and
Erin are graduates of Drury University, and Nathan, an aviation major, is a junior at the University of Central Missouri. Ray
and Sheri thank God everyday for their wonderful children.
